Red Bull Studios Global Identity And Web Design

There’s probably no place on earth, where nowadays Red Bull logo would not be recognised. With it’s famous history of establishing brand’s image in 1987 by taking idea from a Thai energy drink and official slogan of “Red Bull gives You wings”, the estimated wordwide sale of energy drink reaches 4.5 BILLION CANS A YEAR.

The “red and gold” logo of Red Bull, containing two red bulls charging against each other in front of a yellowish gold spot, represents sheer speed, power, risk-taking and aggressiveness.

The bulls depict strength while the blue and silver parts in the background symbolize intellect. The red and yellowish gold parts, on the other hand, characterize emotion. famouslogos.us

With such a giant, working on an identity design for a parent endorsed business seems like a really hard task, but digital creative agency Momkai compeletely nailed it in their latest project for Red Bull Studios. What’s Studios?

Red Bull Studios are a series of unique recording spaces that allow talented artists around the globe to be truly creative by providing free access to a network of state-of-the-art recording and production facilities.

We were invited to create both the new official website that would act as a portal to the local studio sites and develop a distinctive new visual identity supported by clear guidelines for all design work keeping quality and clarity easily attainable.

First, the studios were captured by the names of the city they’re in. Then, working within one unified system, each one was given a logo, city code, pattern and icon set for usability aspects.

The PATTERNS work splendidly capturing the city’s first letter and letting geometrical typography (which I love) play not only decorative, but also navigational (on web) role. See in use:

The icons created for system not only follow the logos style, but also lead a path for a web user, dividing content into clear and clean logical sections. What an amazing website, just have a look. Project definately worth creating a Web Design section on our blog 😉

Powyżej: praca nad identyfikacją wizualną dla giganta takiego jak Red Bull, łącząca odrębną częśc działalności z firmą-matką, nie należy do łatwych zadań. Agencja kreatywna Momkai sprostała jednak zadaniu i stworzyła przeudany projekt zarówno identyfikacji, jak i strony internetowej dla sygnowanych marką RB studio nagraniowych, udostępniających w miastach takich jak Londyn, Amsterdam czy NY bezpłatny dostęp do sprzętu i możliwośc zapisu ścieżek dźwiękowych.

Z pierwszej litery nazw miast powstała geometryczna forma litery, której pattern stanowi tło i zarazem wyróżnik stron www poszczególnego studia. Genialne użycie typografii ma także typowo dekoracyjną rolę – patrz wizualizacje powyżej.

Następnie każdemu z miast stworzono zestaw ikon i te, w połączeniu z silnie zgeometryzowanymi treściami www, stworzyły niezwykle atrakcyjny i czytelny serwis. Projekt wart stworzenia u nas działu Web Design 😉
