Ornament and Checker Brand Identity that’s awesome? Yes, it’s possible!

Hello in April, Readers! 🙂

We must admit we got really amazed by the fact that ornament and checker patterns, that usually speak for cheap and non-designerish, REALLY do work amazingly in the Café Chiquilín Identity project by LSDK team.

The shape of the Logo refers to the beautiful tiled floor in the restaurant. In combination with art nouveau fancywork, a handwriting and a sans serif type this brings the convivial and nostalgic flair of the great Argentinean coffe-houses into place. The menu is being borne a laser engraved wooden panels.

The elements work brilliantly in a sismple grid editorial, with an eye catchy typography and suitable colour scheme. A project truly worth opening the April Showcase 🙂

Powyzej: Projekt niemieckiego studia LSDK stanowi udane polaczenie ryzykownych z puntu widzenia projektanta identyfikacji wizualnej elementow – ornamentu i szachownicy.

Polaczenie wspomnianych moze latwo zaowocowac nieudanym projektem, w tym wypadku jednak, wraz z przemyslana typografia i kolorystyka oraz prostym ukladem, udalo sie stworzyc wyjatkowy, spojny i zapamietywalny system. W sam raz na rozpoczecie kolejnego, oby cieplejszego miesiaca 🙂
